Pumpkin Picking

After seeing all the Jack O’Lanterns at the Blaze, we decided to pick one of our own at the Jones Family Farm. The farm also has a great winery and a corn maze! Check out the photos>>

Are You a Righty or a Lefty?

Check out this wild optical illusion! It’s supposed to tell you which side of your brain is more dominant — I’m a left-brainer.

Here’s a tip that seems to work for me: If you’re trying to get her to change directions, close your eyes for a second or quickly flash your gaze in another direction. Doing this seems to “reset” the illusion.

What Happened to the Wine?

You may have noticed that my frequent wine postings have all but disappeared over the last month. No, I haven’t stopped drinking the nectar of the gods. I’ve decided that I don’t want this site to become a wine blog and so I’ve started a seperate wine blog to hold all my winings. It’s still very much under construction, but I plan to be updating it with regular posts as I develop it. So check it out!

Giuliani Shoots from the Hip

Before Rudy Giuliani was America’s Mayor, he was just a tough talkin’ kid from Brooklyn who became mayor of New York City and made a name for himself by cutting crime to record low levels, ushering in an economic resergence of this great city, pissing off fellow republicans, alienating himself from the majority of the city’s black community and taking a hard-line stance on ferret owners and j-walkers. All the while, Giuliani hosted a weekly local radio show, and in light of his presidential candidacy, the New York Times has put together a collection of some of his “best” moments on air. Regardless of whether you love or hate the man, whether you think the Times put this together on the merits of honest reporting or as fodder for his political opponents, it’s hard to deny the pure entertainment value of the clips. If the whole presidential thing falls through, Giuliani definately has a future in talk radio!
